<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 6, 1926 <br /> <br />The Regular meeting of the Village council was held at the Library Room on Tuesday July 6, 1926 <br /> <br />Present – Roland K. Wilson, Pres, Geo Cornelius, L.L. Bishop, EE Scott, Trustees, W.F. <br />Chadbourne, Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the President at 8 o’clock P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />The first matter taken up by the Council was the question of maintaining the signal system at the <br />Babcock Crossing. <br /> <br />Mr. John Sebring and F.L. Eikes representing the N.P. Ry Co being present with blue prints <br />showing the operation of a certain automatic signal which would be in continuous operation for the <br />14 hours of the day to replace the present system of on main 9 hours a day at what is known as the <br />Babcock Crossing. The Council visited the above named crossing with the said representatives of <br />the N.P. Ry who explained the working of this automatic signal and the location of the same. <br /> <br />The following Resolution was unanimously adopted by the council <br /> <br />Resolved: That this council recommended the adoption of this signal system believing that it is a <br />safer means of preventing accidents that the present system. <br /> <br />The Council also recommend that a stop signal be placed on the north side of what is known as the <br />Chadbourne Crossing situated about 1200 ft east of Great Northern Depot this being a very <br />dangerous crossing approaching from the north, several accidents having occurred here. <br /> <br />Mr. Hoglund notified the council that he would like to have the council vacate his garage as a <br />storage for the fire apparatus as he needed the room for his own use. Matter taken under <br />consideration. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed <br /> <br />C.E.
