<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 3, 1926 <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Village Council was held on Monday May 3, 1926 <br /> <br />Present – Roland K. Wilson, Pres, Geo Cornelius, L.L. Bishop, Trustees, W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the President at 8 o’clock P.M. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed <br /> <br />F.J. Hildred Co repairs for pump at waterworks 336.50 <br />W.P. Rhoda freight on Soda .50 <br />Jos. F. and Co Soda for chemical engine 6.72 <br />First Nat. Bank Premium on Fire Ins. Fire engine 19.68 <br />E.R. Transfer freight on tarvia 4.00 <br />The Barrett Co 4 tarvia 45.00 <br />W.H. Clements street work 53.25 <br />Lee Slayback labor removing 10.50 <br />Star News printing to date 33.55 <br />E.R. Fire Depmt attending Nord Fire 20.60 <br />Fred Ayers labort on water works 17.00 <br />E.R. Power and Light Co repair 3.30 <br />Treas. Union Cemetery dues 4.00 <br />St. Paul Stamp works dog license tags 3.63 <br />Fournier Drug Co lye .60 <br /> <br />On motion Lee Bishop Trustee was appointed to see that an extra light was installed in the alley <br />back of the Houlton Block and also at the north end of the Bridge over the Miss. River. <br /> <br />In regard to the connection of water extending to the Parish House of the Union Church they <br />refusing to pay for same. This connection having been made without the consent of the Council as <br />provided in Ordinance No. 6 and the M.E. Church having paid their water tax during the past years <br />the following Resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br />Resolved: That the Methodist Church of Elk River be allowed 1000 gallons of water per month or <br />3000 gallons per quarter free of charge in the main Church building such amount to be arrived at by <br />use of Meter installed in said building by the Village any amount exceeding 3000 gallons per quarter <br />to be charged for at the rate of 25 cents per thousand gallons, also, that as water used by the Union <br />Church Parish House passes through meter in Parsonage that the minimum on said meter be raised <br />to 15000 gallons per quarter – 12000 gallons to be paid for at the rate of 25 cents per 1000 gallons <br />the next 3000 gallons free and exceeding 15000 gallons to be paid for at the regular rates. <br /> <br />Provided that bills be paid to April 1, 1926 – in order to bring both Churches to an even basis. <br /> <br />No further business appearing meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />
