<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 6, 1924 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Village Council was held at the Library Room on Monday evening Oct 6, <br />1924 <br /> <br />Present – Roland K. Wilson, Pres, Geo Cornelius and L.L. Bishop, Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the Pres at 8 o’clock P.M. <br /> <br />Mr. L.E. Nelson Mangr of the E.R. Power and Light Co being present in reference to a letter read <br />from the council in regard to furnishing Power at the Pump house. Mr. Nelson proposed that the <br />council enter into a contract with his Co. for a term of years with the understanding that his Co. <br />furnish power at a flat rate of 3 ½ cents per M.W with the privilege of using the Power at any time. <br /> <br />On motion Mr. Nelson was instructed to draw his contract and present it at the next regular meeting <br />of the council. <br /> <br />The following budget was presented to the Council as necessary to finance the Village for the year <br />1925. <br /> <br />For Revenue Fund 8000.00 <br />For Special Interest 3500.00 <br />For Music 500.00 <br />For Poor 400.00 <br />For Library 400.00 <br />For Road and Bridge 500.00 <br />Total 13,300.00 <br /> <br />Resolved that the Budget be accepted as presented and tax levied to meet the regular amounts on <br />motion the above resolution was accepted unanimously. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed <br />Mid-West Oil Co gas at pump house 47.44 <br />F.R. Caley Hdw Co .35 <br />F.H. Nickerson mowing weeds 19.50 <br />E.R. Blacksmith Co repair 4.00 <br />Daly Auto Co rent 13.65 <br />W.H. Clements St. work 24.20 <br />L.A. Dare printing 6.75 <br />E.R. Garage labor at pump house 15.36 <br />John Noreen tapping main 2.00 <br />O.L. Davis st. work 18.70 <br />Fred Ayers repair hydrants 18.36 <br />Charles Roggatz 1.50 <br />H.R. Caley 4.02 <br /> <br />
