<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 6, 1921 <br /> <br />Special meeting of the Village Council held in the offices of the Elk River Lumber Co Jan 6, 1921 <br /> <br />Members present J.H. Virgin, President, Bert Carr, Chas Selhauer, Trustees, M.P. Williams, Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the president at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Minutes of last meeting read and approved. <br /> <br />The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the purchase of a syren \[sic\] at the request of the council <br />of last meeting the clerk wrote Mr. McGuffin of W.S. Nolt Co who was present. <br /> <br />Mr. McGuffin presented a proposal or proposition to the council on the syren of $423.50 for a <br />federal two phone motor. The proposition was discussed and it was decided that we write and get <br />prices from the Waterious People also terms. <br /> <br />J.A. Madson of the Fire Dept was present as a visitor. <br /> <br />Motion made by Chas Selhauer and seconded by Bert Carr that a ladder be purchased by the <br />Council for the Fire Department. <br /> <br />Motion accepted and passed by the Council. <br /> <br />Motion made by Chas Selhauer and seconded by Bert Carr that the clerk write Mr. Griswold of the <br />Elk River Power and Light Co appear before the council at next meeting in regard to the high prices <br />charged for light in Dec 1920. <br /> <br />The following bills were paid by the clerk and a record in here made of same. <br /> <br />2037 Elk River Power and Light Co light for Dec 119.00 <br />2038 Elk River Power and Light Co power for pump 17.50 <br /> <br />No further business.
