<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 12, 1920 <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Village council held in the offices of the Elk River Lumber Co on Oct 12, <br />1920. <br /> <br />Members present J.H. Virgin, President, D.W. Longfellow, Trustee, M.P. Williams, Clerk <br /> <br />Mr. Buck, village engineer, and Mr. Phelps of Phelps Drake Co were present in regard to the final <br />settlement of the water works. <br /> <br />Mr. Fred Vassar was present and presented a petition to the council in regard to a cartway to his <br />property. The petition was laid on the table for discussion and it was decided by the council to let <br />Mr. Vassar know what can be done in getting a cartway to his property. <br /> <br />Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by J.H. Virgin that a committee of three be <br />appointed and report at next meeting as to what can be done in getting a cartway to Mr. Fred Vassar <br />property. Motion passed and accepted by council. <br /> <br />Motion made by D.W. Longfellow that Phelps Drake Co be allowed $9000.00 on contract which <br />leaves a balance still due them of $2,341.17. <br /> <br />Motion was passed and accepted by council and the clerk was ordered to issue a warrant to the <br />amount of $9000.00. <br /> <br />Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by J.H. Virgin that the services of the <br />weightmaster of the village scales to be discontinued and Mr. Brown J.H. Virgin is to notify him. <br /> <br />Motion passed and accepted by council. Motion made by D.W. Longfellow that W.C. Buck Village <br />Engineer be allowed $500.00 as part payment for his services rendered the village on water works. <br /> <br />Motion seconded by J.H. Virgin and passed and accepted by council. <br /> <br />The above warrant be issued to bank and draft made out to W.C. Buck. <br /> <br />Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by M.P. Williams that a bill be allowed the Elk <br />River Lumber Co for $152.25 Lumber and Labor <br /> <br />1970 Phelps Drake Company statement of Aug 14-20 4,500.00 <br />1971 Phelps Drake Company statement of Aug 14-20 4,500.00 <br />1972 W.C.
