<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 7, 1920 <br /> <br />Special meeting of the Village Council was held in the office of the Elk River Lumber Co Oct 7, <br />1920. <br /> <br />Members present J.H. Virgin, President, Chas Selhauer, Trustee, Bert Carr, Trustee, D.W. <br />Longfellow, Trustee, M.P. Williams, Clerk <br /> <br />A Committee of the Community Club consisting of Mrs. Semans and Mrs. Baily came before the <br />council requesting that a tax buy be made by the council this year for library purposes. <br /> <br />A report and analysis of the Elk River Power and Light Co requesting higher rates for electric <br />current was brought before the council for consideration. A motion that the matter be laid on the <br />table for consideration was carried. <br /> <br />Motion made by J.H. Virgin and seconded by Bert Carr the following levies be made for this year <br />1920. Motion accepted and passed by the council. <br /> <br />General Revenue fund $10,000.00 <br />Poor fund 599.99 <br />Library fund 400.00 <br />Musical Entertainment fund 200.00 <br /> <br />The following bills were read and motion made by J.H. Virgin. Seconded by Chas Selhauer and <br />passed by the council that they be paid and warrants issued for same. <br /> <br />Warrants <br />1964 Wm Giff salary for Sept 75.00 <br />1965 Elk River Power and Light Co 119.00 <br />1966 Wm Brown sal for 30 days at 5.00 per day 130.00 <br />1967 Wm Giff labor on streets 109.70 <br />1968 A.L Thompson labor on street 6.00 <br />1969 Carr and Hall labor and supplies 41.59 <br /> <br />No further business council adjourned. <br /> <br />M.P.
