<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 24, 1920 <br /> <br />Special meeting of the office of the village council held in the offices of the Elk River Lumber Co <br />on Aug 24, 1920. <br /> <br />Members present J.H. Virgin, President, Bert Carr, Trustee, D.W. Longfellow, Trustee, M.P. <br />Williams, Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the president at 8 p.m. <br /> <br />The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the present Village ordinances in force and it was <br />decided by the council to look over the ordinances and to make new ordinances for those that are <br />needed and also revise those that are in force. <br /> <br />Motion made D.W. Longfellow and seconded by J.H. Virgin Pres that a committee be appointed to <br />look up the old ordinances and report on some to the council at the earliest date possible. <br /> <br />Motion voted on and passed by the Council. <br /> <br />Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by J.H. Virgin, Pres that Bert Carr be appointed to <br />look after the water connections. <br /> <br />Motion accepted and passed by the council. <br /> <br />Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by Bert Carr that the bill be allowed to Phelps <br />Drake Co for $5,379.37 and the clerk to issue a warrant for same. Motion accepted and passed by <br />the council. <br /> <br />Warrant #1948 Phelps Drake and Co estimate #7 $5,379.37 <br /> <br />No more business. Council adjourn. <br /> <br />M.P.
