<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 10, 1920 <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the village council was held in the office of Elk River Lumber Co on Aug 10, <br />1920. <br /> <br />Members present J.H. Virgin, President, Chas Selahuer, Trustee, D.W. Longfellow, Trustee, M.P. <br />Williams, Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the president at 8:15 p.m. <br /> <br />Visitors present Tom White, who was here on behalf of the Elk River Power and Light Co by <br />request of the council to explain the necessary steps to take putting in power for the Village Pump. <br /> <br />Mr. J.H. Virgin, President, was called upon to tell the council what he could find out about Mrs. <br />Harrington. Mr. Virgin states that Mrs. Harrington insists on the village to take care of her, which <br />was denied her. <br /> <br />Mr. Tyler, County attorney, was called to explain to the council what steps should be taken to take <br />care of Mrs. Harrington. He says under the circumstances we are not compelled to take care of her <br />as her father has offered to support her. <br /> <br />Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by J.H. Virgin that the village pay a bond bill of <br />Mrs. Harrington to the amount of $28.00. <br /> <br />Motion voted on and passed by council. <br /> <br />The above bill has been sent for collection to her father. <br /> <br />Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by J.H. Virgin that $200.00 be appropriate to the <br />Sherburne County Fair Association, Andrew Davis Sec. <br /> <br />Motion voted on and passed by the Council. <br /> <br />No further business council adjourned. <br /> <br />M.P.
