<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 13, 1920 <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Village Council was held in the office of the Elk River Lumber Co on July <br />13, 1920. <br /> <br />Members present J.H. Virgin, President, Chas Selhauer, Trustee, D.W. Longfelllow, Trustee, Bert <br />Carr, Trustee, M.P. Williams, Clerk <br /> <br />Visitors present L.K. Houlton, B.L. Hall and Frank Hall. <br /> <br />L.K. Houlton and B.L. Hall were representing the Twin City Milk Producers Assn in regard ot water <br />also to find out whether the village would extend the water main down to the property line of the <br />Twin Cities Milk Producers Assn. property. The council promised they would give them a written <br />proposition regarding a water main down to the property line. <br /> <br />Mr. L.K. Houlton also inquired of the council what the water rate would be. This was taken into <br />consideration by the council and discussed by the council but no definite rate was decided upon. <br /> <br />Motion made by D.W. Longfellow that the following proposition be made and submitted to the <br />Twin City Milk Producers Assn. <br /> <br />The Village Council makes the following proposition to the Twin City Milk Producers Assn. <br /> <br />The Village will lay four inch main starting from present main running east on the Jefferson <br />Highway to position in front of the proposed building of the Twin City Milk Producers Assn. <br /> <br />The total expense of said water main extension be paid to the village by the Twin City Milk <br />Producers Assn. The expense of that portion not lying in front of the Twin City Milk Producers <br />Assn property to be paid back to the Twin City Milk Producers Assn by rebating water rent until <br />said amount has been paid. <br /> <br />Clerk was given orders to submit copy of above proposition to the Twin City Milk Producer Assn. <br /> <br />Motion made by D.W. Longfellow that the Clerk salary be $250.00 for the year ending March 1921. <br /> <br />Motion seconded by J.H. Virgin and passed by Council. <br /> <br />The following bills were allowed and the council ordered to issue warrants for them. <br /> <br />1918 J.H. Virgin services on board of equalization $4.00 <br />1919 D.W. Longfellow services on board of equalization 4.00 <br />1920 J.H. Virgin judge of election June 21, 1920 4.50 <br />1921 Chas Selhauer judge of election June 21, 1920 4.50 <br />1922 Bert Carr judge of election June 21, 1920 4.50 <br />1923 C.A. Moarse clerk of election June 21, 1920 4.50 <br />1924 Chas Brown clerk of election June 21, 1920 4.50 <br /> <br />
