��i <br />Elk River <br />Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />ERMU Commission <br />Dave Ninow —Water Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: <br />AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />December 13, 2022 <br />6.1j <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• Delivered 10 new water meters, sealed the meter, installed an encoder receiver <br />transmitter, and took curb stop ties. <br />• Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples <br />o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria <br />o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH <br />• Completed 20 routine fluoride samples <br />o All samples met MDH standards <br />o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report <br />• Submitted Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) for the Diesel Generation Plant to the <br />Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. <br />• The pump, motor, and drop pipe have been removed from Well #2 for routine <br />maintenance and inspection. <br />• The water operators have started annual maintenance of the water treatment plants. <br />This process includes inspecting and recharging the iron and manganese removal <br />pressure filters. <br />• We have once again placed protective plastic bags on fire hydrants along high traffic <br />roads to protect them from corrosion from road salt. <br />• All Water Department field staff members have completed backflow device testing <br />certification.
