"amity of <br />El*., <br />Rive <br />City of Elk River <br />City Council <br />Resolution 22-70 <br />A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River of appreciation to Peter K. Beck, City <br />Attorney, for his more than 40 years of service to the City of Elk River <br />WHEREAS, Peter K. Beck graduated from The George Washington School of Law and soon began <br />practicing at Larkin Hoffman; and <br />WHEREAS, Larkin Hoffman was chosen to serve the City of Elk River following the city annexation of Elk <br />River Township; and <br />WHEREAS, Peter K. Beck specialized in land use, environmental and municipal law and was selected to <br />Super Lawyers in 1994, 1997, and 2012 - 2022 ; and <br />WHEREAS, Counselor Beck assuredly guided a multitude of elected officials and city staff with sage legal <br />advice through the growth, redevelopment, and ever -changing state statute and federal law changes; and <br />'WHEREAS, Counselor Beck's institutional knowledge and history will be irreplaceable as he has attended <br />hundreds of City Council meetings, crafted and reviewed city ordinances, resolutions, agreements, and licenses; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Peter effectively navigated the city through legal challenges successfully avoiding litigation with <br />sound solutions; and <br />WHEREAS, Peter K. Beck will be retiring from the City of Elk River on December 31, 2022; and <br />WHEREAS, Peter's work over the past forty plus years has left an indelible mark on the community and the <br />people he served, he will be missed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River, Minnesota, as <br />follows: the city expresses its deep gratitude and appreciation to Peter K.
