<br /> 5. OPEN FORUM <br />An opportunity for residents and guests to provide comments and feedback to the City Council regarding items not on the agenda. Information <br />provided in Open Forum will not be discussed by the City Council; rather, the information will be referred to staff and/or scheduled for <br />discussion at a future meeting. <br /> <br /> 6. PRESENTATIONS, AWARDS, AND RECOGNITION <br /> 6.1 City of Elk River Volunteer of the Month – Mayor Dietz <br /> 6.2 Peter Beck Recognition <br /> 6.3 Oath of Office: Firefighters <br /> <br /> 7. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />An opportunity for the public to express their opinions and raise questions pertaining to the agenda item. All comments become part of the <br />official public record. For this reason, all comments must be made at the podium so they can be heard and recorded. Comments may also be <br />provided in writing. The city council will only receive information during the Public Hearing and will not deliberate, discuss or answer questions <br />until the hearing is closed. GENERAL BUSINESS <br />General action items in which the City Council receives information from city staff or consultants and after deliberation acts on the item under <br />consideration. General Business items are not opportunities to receive or provide public input. However, the City Council may, at its sole <br />discretion, solicit public feedback. <br /> 8.1 Corridors of Commerce Grant Submittal <br /> <br /> 9. WORK SESSION <br />Work Sessions are less formal meetings of the City Council to encourage dialog between themselves, staff, consultants and invited members of <br />the public. The Council does not typically take official action on items under discussion. At the conclusion of a discussion, a simple Council <br />consensus provides staff direction for execution of the item. This portion of the agenda is audio recorded but not video recorded or broadcast. <br />Work Sessions are open to the public, however, visitors who wish to provide input must be invited by the Mayor, assume a seat at the discussion <br />table and provide their full name and address for the official record. <br /> 9.1 2023 Multipurpose Facility Budget <br /> <br /> 10.
