We have received 29 applications and have <br />interviewed most of them as they were received. Following successful completion of the background, physical, and <br />psychological testing we recommend Patrick Bendel to the position of police officer. <br /> <br />Mr. Bendel holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and has been working for the Red Lake Police Department <br />since December 2016. He started as a police officer and has earned his way into the lead highway safety officer <br />managing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration grant focusing on enforcing traffic laws with the <br />goal of zero traffic fatalities on the reservation. <br /> <br />As a lateral hire, Mr. Bendel will start at pay step 2 of the union contract. He will move to step 3 at six months of <br />employment and to the top step at one year of employment.
