<br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council 4.10a <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent November 21, 2022 Lauren Wipper, Human Resources Manager <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Hire Police Officer Ron Nierenhausen, Police Chief <br />Reviewed by <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Approve, by motion, the hiring of Bailey Roscoe to the position of police officer effective November 22, 2022. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />We have had an ongoing recruitment for police officers since mid-July. We have received 29 applications and have <br />interviewed most of them as they were received. Following successful completion of the background, physical, and <br />psychological testing we recommend Bailey Roscoe to the position of police officer. <br /> <br />Ms. Roscoe holds an associates degree in law enforcement and has worked as a loss prevention officer at Scheels <br />and is currently working as a community service officer for the Waite Park Police Department. She is excited for <br />the opportunities Elk River has to offer. <br /> <br />Ms. Roscoe will start at pay step 1 of the union contract.
