Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council 4.15 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent November 7, 2022 Lauren Wipper, Human Resources Manager <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Hire Park Maintenance Worker Cal Portner, City Administrator <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Approve, by motion, the hiring of Daniel Hampton to the position of park maintenance worker effective <br />November 21, 2022. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />Staff went to market to fill a position that was vacated at the end of September. We received 55 applications and <br />interviewed eight candidates. Following background and reference checks and pre-employment testing, we <br />recommend Daniel Hampton for this position. <br /> <br />In addition to being an Elk River Firefighter, Mr. Hampton has worked as a grounds technician for the <br />Robbinsdale School District since 2015. He is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector and holds a Class B <br />Commercial Driver’s License. <br /> <br />Mr. Hampton will start at step A of the IUOE Local 49 labor contract.
