UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING
TO:FROM:
ERMU CommissionTony Mauren–Executive Administrative Manager
MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER:
October 11,2022 6.1f
SUBJECT:
Staff Update
ACTION REQUESTED:
None
DISCUSSION:
The Current Newsletter is the October bill insert. The fall edition focuses ontopics such
as Public Power and Customer Service Week, a community service award given to
Theresa Slominski, frequently asked questions about the Cold Weather Rule, energy
assistance programs available to customers, and the Lake Orono Dam inspection.

Typically, when we publish our quarterly Current newsletter, we focus our social media
posts that month around topics that were covered in the newsletter. In addition to the
newsletter topics, other posts you may see in September and October include: an article
on the per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) testing ERMU is doing and our
National Drive Electric Week event.

There are two social media posts we would like to feature this month. With help from
the water department communications staff created an article about the PFAS testing
ERMU is performingto protect the safety of our customer’s drinking water. The second
lets the community know about ERMU’s line crew who headed down to Florida as a part
of mutual aidto assist in the recovery from Hurricane Ian. Both provide great examples
of the care and dedication of municipal utilities.

In addition to supporting National Drive Electric Week planning, administration staff has
been preparing for and subsequently following up on meetings for the Commission,
Wage & Benefit Committee, and Information Security Committee.

Please note that the November 8 commission meeting will be a special meeting as it
needs to be held in the ERMU Commission Room due to Election Day. The election also
makes it necessary for us to complete the commission meeting by 6 p.m.

ATTACHMENTS:
Bill Insert – Current Newsletter Fall 2022
______________________________________________________________________________
Page 1 of 1
99
