Updated: August 2020 <br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To <br />Parks and Recreation Commission <br />Item Number <br />8.1 <br />Agenda Section <br />Action Item <br />Meeting Date <br />October 5, 2022 <br />Prepared by <br />Michael Hecker, Parks, and Recreation Director <br />Item Description <br />2023 Park Improvement Fund and Park <br />Dedication projects <br />Reviewed by <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Discuss the 2023 Park Improvement Fund and Park Dedication projects for 2023 to 2027. <br /> <br />Recommend, by motion to accept/not accept the Park Improvement Fund and Park Dedication projects for 2023. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />The Parks and Recreation Commission discussed a list of park projects at the August 10, 2022, Work Session and <br />the September 14 regular meeting. <br /> <br />The Woodland Trails Regional Park storage garage estimate is $150,000 for a 30x40’ pole building with overhead <br />doors. Staff recommends moving the funding source of the YAC two-stall garage at $60,000 from PIF to Park <br />Dedication. <br /> <br />We received updated information regarding installing shade structures at YAC in place of the netting discussed last <br />month. We also have a few concepts to share regarding the Lions Park playground for $200,000 Commissioners <br />recommended in September. <br /> <br />Projects discussed and recommended by the Parks and Recreation Commission for 2023 are listed on the attached <br />PIF and Park Dedication spreadsheets. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br />$420,750 - Park Improvement Fund for 2023 <br />$194,100 - Park Dedication Fund for 2023 <br /> <br />Mission/Policy/Goal <br />Opportunity to live, work and play <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> Park Improvement Fund Spreadsheet <br /> Park Dedication Fund Spreadsheet <br /> YAC Shade Structure Options <br />
