Request for Action <br />To Item Number <br />Ma Tor and CinT Council 8.1 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />General Business September 19, 2022 iVlichael Hecker, Parks and Recreation Director <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Resolution for GNT Regional Trail Designation Cal Pormer, Cit�r Administrator <br />Reviewed by <br />Action Requested <br />Approve, byT motion, the resolution supporting regional trail designation for the GNT <br />Background/Discussion <br />Cit�T Council approved the Great Northern Trail (GN"I� Memorandum of Understanding in November of 2020. <br />This established a collaborative effort between Sherburne and Mille Lacs Counties, the cities of Elk River, <br />Zimmerman, Princeton, and Milaca�, herein referred to in the GNT Master Plan as the Partnership Group. <br />The partnership group met regularlyT with a trail planning consultant between February and JulyT of 2022 to <br />develop a master plan. Three open houses were held in April and May with an online surveyT option. A trail <br />master plan is required in the application process for regional trail designation.
