<br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council 4.5 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent September 6, 2022 Tim Sevcik, Street and Park Superintendent <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />2022 Equipment Replacement Fund Purchase Justin Femrite, Public Works Director <br />Reviewed by <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Approve, by motion, the 2022 Street Maintenance Division Equipment Replacement Fund purchase of a Crafco <br />SS250 Crack Seal Melter. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />The Street Maintenance Division requests authorization to proceed with the purchase of a Crafco SS250 Crack Seal <br />Melter. <br /> <br />In June of 2022, the division’s Cimline crack seal trailer was destroyed by a fire following a mechanical <br />failure in the firebox. After paying the insurance deductible, the city received $33,000 from our insurance. This <br />trailer was scheduled for replacement in 2024 in the Equipment Replacement Fund. <br /> <br />Purchase of the replacement trailer will be made utilizing current state contract pricing. <br /> <br />Division Unit # Description Vendor Total Unit Price <br />Streets 85 Crafco SS250 Crack Seal Melter Brock White $79,521.05 <br /> <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br />$79,521.05 from the Equipment Replacement Fund. $33,000 from insurance has been coded as revenue to the <br />Equipment Replacement Fund.
