UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO:FROM: <br />ERMU CommissionTheresa Slominski– General Manager <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />June14, 2022 2.6 <br />SUBJECT: <br />Employee Handbook Annual Updates <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Adopt the revised ERMU Employee Handbook <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Annually, staff and legal counsel review the existing personnel policies incorporated into the <br />ERMU Employee Handbook for compliance with changing labor laws. The Wage and Benefits <br />Committee may recommend the Commission adopt employee benefit changes. Staff may <br />recommend operational changes that affect the personnel policy be adopted by the <br />Commission for incorporation into the handbook. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />There are only a fewchanges to the handbook since its last revision in April2021, mostly <br />related to the changes recommended by the Wage and Benefits Committee and approved by <br />the commission previously. The changes are: <br />Revise Date in footer& on cover page. <br />Revise Table of Contents and page numbers. <br />Revise Section 13, Drug & Alcohol Free Workplace, related to marijuana law updates. <br />Revise Section 26 for Remote Work changes. <br />Add Section 28 for Lactation Breaks per law updates. <br />Add Section 34 for the Longevity Pay benefit. <br />Revise Section 40 to adjust tiers for vacation 0-4 years, 20-21, 22-23, and 24+ years. <br />Revise Section 47 Health Insurance Coverage, to better reflect the employer-employee <br />premium cost share with the move to age-banded premiums and added the monthly <br />employee premium amounts. <br />Revise Section 65 to reflect changes to Paid Leave Donation, allowing 16 hours of sick <br />and a proration of total donated time amongst contributing employees. <br />Atta <br />ched is a revised ERMU Employee Handbook reflecting the proposed changes. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Revised – ERMU Policy – G.4f1 - Employee Handbook <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />49 <br />
