Subject: Public Comment To whom it may concern, I am writing to you on behalf of the concerns with ERX Motor Park. While I can respect the concerns of the individuals that brought forward this petition, the pros far outweigh the cons when it comes to what this facility and its supporters bring to the area. As a race team that has been coming to this facility for 4+ years as professionals and spectators, we can see all the positives the events at ERX Motor Park offer the local businesses. There is a major influx of revenue being generated in local business including but not limited to hotels, restaurants, convenience stores, etc. Events held at this venue continue to attract spectators from all over the country, offering exposure to the area and what it has to offer. Those that question the necessity of this facility need to stop and think about the great loss this will cost their own neighborhoods. The Carlson family is an asset to the area and any disruption to the well thought out, positive publicity they bring to the area would be very unfortunate to not only the area, but the locals that do everything in their power to create opportunities for the city of Elk River. I urge the city and its people to carefully and thoroughly think through this issue. The loss of such a business would hugely impact the city of Elk River, lessen the job market, and disrupt the tourism in the area. ERX has the support of many, myself and family included. I push for the continued support of this facility and the end to these unrealistic petitions that push for the destruction of such great opportunities for the city of Elk River, brought to you by the Carlson family and ERX Motor Park. This facility has played a key role in helping grow our race team, brought us positive exposure, built our fan base, given us new opportunities to bond as a family and has allowed us to expand our horizons as spectators at the many events they put on.
