7.2c
From:
Sent: Monday, May 16, 2022 12:51 PM
To: Leeseberg, Chris <CLe.es.eb..erg@ElkRiverMN. ov>
Subject: Public Comment May 16th Council Meeting
Richard Eide
Elk River Council and Mayor,
I am righting to you concerning the conditional use permit for ERX Motorpark. As you can see from my
address I am not a resident of Elk River but I would like to point out a few things to help you understand
why ERX is so important to so many people. I could go on and on but I will make this a simple as
possible.
They events that are held there are family oriented, this isn't drop your kid off at the door for practice
and pick them up a hour later. These are families that bonding and learning valuable life lessons
together. The time that I have spent there with my kids are some of the greatest memories we have
together. The kids are learning about hard work, setting goals and striving to achieve them which will
help them throughout their lives.
I have no exact way to come up with a dollar amount but the the economic impact from the events that
are held at ERX has to be huge. I know when we come down for a weekend of racing between the hotel
room, a stop at Menard's, pick up a few things from Cub and a couple dinners, usually Hajime, we will
easily spend $1,000 at your businesses and that is multiplied by every racer that comes to an event.
I understand there is noise and traffic that is a result of these events but the pros definitely out weight
the cons.
To the people that are upset about it, please consider when you hear the roar of a engine or are
inconvenienced by the traffic, think about the well rounded and determined kids that being raised by
the families that are using that facility, our society sure could use more young people that aren't afraid
to work hard and achieve their goals.
Thank You for your time and your commitment to your community,
Richard Eide
-Moonlite Bay Restaurant & Bar
-@MoonliteBay
-iD Motorsports
- @iDmotorsports
-Crosslake, MN
Sent from my iPhone
