My brother has been going to the facility for snocross
since he was 14 - he is now 25. The community within ERX has become our family's second family and
home. We enjoy the community ERX has created and provided people of all ages. For those children
who do not "fit in" or enjoy typical sports, ERX is an outlet to allow them to enjoy doing what they love
and to be engaged in a community that will encourage them to follow their dreams. It provides
resources for these people to do what they love and overall provides positive impact in so many
people's lives. The facility has helped shaped so many people over the years, providing a safe escape to
do what they love in a healthy environment.
ERX is a great facility that brings together the community and puts on spectacular events that people of
all ages can attend and enjoy. Elk River benefits from this, with people traveling all over the country to
come to these events. In turn, many local businesses benefit from the increased business these events
provide (specifically the food and hotel industry). Personally, we have had many family and friends make
the journey down to Elk River for these events.
Eliminating ERX would be a travesty to the community. A lot of these kids depend on ERX, both as a
place to do what they love and as a place to help them grow and be better people. ERX contributes to
the community in so many positive ways, both seen and unseen. Shutting down the park would have
untold impact to the community, including tourism and a lack of outlet for kids who don't play the
typical sports - where will these kids go if they cannot go to the track?
Please consider these words as you make your decision. ERX is a safe haven and a community itself. This
place is a vital practice and event facility for so many people, including professional athletes. The events
held at ERX contribute positively to the community, providing family -friendly entertainment and helping
support the Elk River tourism community. Do not shut it down.
Hannellee Negus-Cottew
