MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 05-106 <br />APPROVING THE 2006 TAX LEVY FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />PURPOSES FOR THE ELK RIVER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />AUTHORITY. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER FARBER AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUMPHREY TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 05-107 <br />APPROVING THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY 2006 <br />TAX LEVY. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER FARBER AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ TO HOLD THE CITY OF ELK RIVER TRUTH IN <br />TAXATION PUBLIC HEARING ON THE TAX LEVY AND BUDGET AT 6:30 <br />P.M. ON DECEMBER 5, 2005 WITH THE CONTINUATION DATE IF <br />NEEDED OF DECEMBER 12, 2005, AT 6:30 P.M. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />City Administrator I<J.aers stated that this general fund budget does not include funding for <br />contracted services \vith the Boys & Girls Club; however, there is $12,000 in the landfill <br />budget for programs provided by this group. He also noted that funding for the Retired and <br />Senior Volunteer Program is not in the budget. <br /> <br />5.5. Continuation of Consideration of a Tobacco License for Elk River BP <br /> <br />City Clerk Joan Schmidt reviewed the information provided in regards to issuing a tobacco <br />license for Elk River BP. Police Chief Beahen answered the Council's questions regarding <br />compliance checks. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER FARBER AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUMPHREY TO APPROVE A TOBACCO LICENSE FOR <br />ELK RIVER BP AT 19696 EVANS STREET WITH STAFF BRINGING THIS <br />ITEM BACK TO COUNCIL IF THERE ARE ANY COMPLIANCE CHECK <br />PROBLEMS. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />
