Cit�r Council i�linutes <br />r�pri120, 2022 <br />Riverwalk from Orono Park to Cit�T of Ramse�T <br />FeasibilityT of moving train station to downtown <br />Outdoor swimming pool <br />Page 3 <br />Mr. Pormer indicated he will bring goals back to a future agenda for revie�v and acceptance. <br />A�neTzcan Bescue Plan Act �ABI'A� Funds <br />Mr. Pormer discussed possible uses of ARPA funds. <br />Council discussed wanting ARPA funds to a difference for the most residents. <br />Mr. PoYtner stated most of the items on the list �uould be funded at some point, it's just a <br />matter of ho`v theyT `vould be paid for. <br />MayroY Dietz asked if ARPA funds could be applied to the General Fund. <br />Council asked about using the moneyT for propert�T acquisition to bring in outside businesses <br />or to expand broadband to the entire cityT. <br />Mr. PortneY stated the amount of ARPA funds would not go far in paying foY broadband <br />connectivityT. <br />Ms. FischeY stated anotheY phase of broadband might be possible if a service provider <br />would parmer `vith the cit�r to payT for it Sherburne CountyT may also be a source of funding <br />for a broadband project. <br />The Council Yecessed at 3:04 p.m. The meeting reconvened at 3:17 p.m. <br />Business BegistT ation P� oaz aYn <br />Fire Chief Dickinson and �1s. Fischer explained the Business Registration Program `vhich <br />�vould help the city kno�v �vhat businesses are operating within cityT limits. This would not <br />be a permit oY license and would be free to business owneYs. <br />Benefits of a Business Registration ProgYam include accessing infoYmation in an emeYgencyr <br />call as well as a��areness of any hazardous materials on site. <br />Council questioned �vhyT businesses don't alreadyT update their information �vith the fire <br />department, �vho `vould keep the database current, and if businesses would be resistant to <br />registering.
