Parks & Recreation Commission Minutes Page 2 <br />March 9, 2022 <br />----------------------------- <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Loidolt and seconded by Commissioner Holmgren <br />to elect Commissioner Williams as Chair of Parks and Recreation <br />Commission. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />6. Open Forum - None <br /> <br />7. Presentations – Eagle Scout Presentation <br /> <br />Phillip Dahlheimer Jr. presented his Eagle Scout project, a natural obstacle course <br />for dogs at Orono Dog Park. A few of the features will be a dog walk and a log pile <br />for dogs to crawl around on, and a concrete tunnel. <br /> <br />8.1 Jeff Hill Legacy 5K <br /> <br />TJ Hill shared his project of planning a two-mile Fun Run at Woodland Trails <br />Regional Park for the Jeff Hill Legacy Fund which raises scholarship funds to local <br />students. <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Loidolt and seconded by Commissioner Rathbun to <br />approve the Jeff Hill Legacy 5K to be held at Woodland Trails Regional Park. <br />Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />8.2 Farmers Market Coloring Contest <br /> <br />Ms. Wingard shared her staff report. Sharing that the coloring contest was open to <br />children ages 3–7-year-olds and the art will be on the Farmers Market shopping bag <br />given out on the first day. <br /> <br />Commissioners shared their favorite. <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Soltvedt and seconded by Commissioner Holmgren <br />to approve option B as the winner of the 2022 Farmers Market Coloring <br />Contest. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />8.3 Park Dedication – Hickman Addition <br /> <br />Mr. Hecker shared his staff report. <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Soltvedt and seconded by Commissioner Loidolt to <br />recommend to City Council to accept park dedication for Hickman Addition <br />be paid at the applicable commercial rate when the lot is released for <br />recording. Motion carried 7-0.
