City Council Minutes Page 2 <br />March 21, 2022 <br />----------------------------- <br /> <br /> No one appeared for open forum. <br /> <br />6.1 City of Elk River Volunteer of the Month <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Beyer presented the March Volunteer of the Month award to Joanna <br />Arbic. He highlighted the following: <br /> <br /> Provide hands on experience for Elk River High school fashion marketing class <br /> Participated in Elk River Homecoming parade <br /> Judges DECA competition at the district and state levels <br /> Helps plan annual Elk River Area Chamber Golf tournament <br /> Part of Women’s United Group through Sherburne County Area United Way, <br />helping to create tomorrow’s leaders through the iEmpower program <br /> Part of Power of Kindness group through Sherburne County Area United Way <br /> Volunteer at Community Connect event <br /> Helped organize donation drives for Great River Family Promise, Open Doors <br />for Youth, and Elk River Senior Living <br /> <br />7.1 Conditional Use Permit: Operate a Motor Vehicle Sales & Repair <br />st <br />Shop, Josh Anderson, 10908 171 Avenue <br /> <br />Mr. Leeseberg presented the staff report. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Beyer opened the public hearing. <br /> <br />There being no one to speak, Acting Mayor Beyer closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Councilmember Wagner asked if there was a reason why only five for-sale parking <br />stalls were on the plans? <br /> <br />Mr. Leeseberg clarified that is what the applicant chose. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Westgaard and seconded by Councilmember <br />Christianson to approve the Conditional Use Permit with the conditions to <br />satisfy the standards set forth in Section 30-654: <br />1. The city’s Building Official and Fire Marshal shall inspect the building <br />for compliance with all state and local building codes. <br />2. No more than five “for sale” vehicles can be on site at one time. <br />3. The five “for sale” parking stalls shall be marked with signage. <br />4. Auto repairs shall not be allowed. <br />5. A banner sign can only be utilized for 90 days through the city’s <br />temporary sign permit process. <br />Motion carried 4-0. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
