<br />Created 08/05 <br /> <br /> <br />ENERGY CITY <br />COMMISSION <br /> <br />Function: <br />The Energy City Commission shall promote the City of Elk River as a hub of energy <br />technology, energy manufacturing, energy demonstrations, recycling, use of green products, <br />and education. For more detailed information, see Chapter 2, Article V, "Boards and <br />Commissions," of the Elk River City Code. <br /> <br />Meetings: <br />The Energy City Commission meets at least four times each calendar year. Dates, times, and <br />locations shall be established by the Commission members. Additional meetings will be held <br />on an as-needed basis. <br /> <br />Members and Term: <br />The Energy City Commission consists of fifteen members appointed by the City Council. <br />Terms are three years beginning on the first day of March; however, members shall hold <br />6ffice until their successors have been appointed. Members shall consist of one <br />representative from the following: City Council, Elk River Municipal Utilities, EDA, <br />Chamber of Commerce, Suburban Northwest Builders Association, Elk River Landfill, and <br />an environmental group. Members shall also consist of one representative designated by <br />Independent School District 728, one representative designated by the Sherburne County <br />Board of Commissioners, and up to six representatives from energy related businesses as <br />determined by the City Council. <br /> <br />Questions pertaining to the Energy City Commission can be directed to Steve Rohlf, <br />Building and Environmental Administrator at (763) 635-1061. <br />
