<br />Proclamation <br /> <br />Whereas, the vision of the Toastmasters International organization is to elnpower <br />people to achieve their full potential and realize their dreams; and <br /> <br />Whereas, since the Toastmasters organization began in 1924, more than three <br />million men and women have benefited from its communication and leadership <br />programs. Members of Toastmasters benefit from improved communications skills, <br />better meeting facilitation skills, and leadership skills. Increased self-confidence is an <br />added dividend; and <br /> <br />Wllereas, meetings include both prepared and extemporaneous speaking. <br />Speeches are evaluated emphasizing positive in1ll1ediate feedback and ideas for <br />improvement, all within a supportive environmellt. Members receive educational <br />manuals from Toastmasters International Wllicll offers guidelines for speeches; and <br /> <br />Wllereas, the mission of Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually sllpportive <br />and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop <br />communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal <br />growth; and <br /> <br />Whereas, GRE Energizers, Toastmasters Club #4749 meets weekly within the <br />City of Elk River, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Now, Therefore, I, Mayor Stephanie Klinzing, Mayor of the city of Elk River, <br />Minnesota, do hereby proclaim October 2005 as <br /> <br />Toastmasters Month In the City of Elk River <br /> <br />And call upon all citizens of this city to join us in commending this observance and <br />celebrating the 81st anniversary of the Toastmasters International organization. <br /> <br />Dated this 1 st day of October, 2005. <br /> <br />Stepllanie Klinzing, Mayor <br />City of Elk River, Minnesota <br />
