<br /> <br />**Item 3.4.** <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Lori Johnson, Finance and Administrative Services Director <br /> <br />DATE: September 12, 2005 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Consider Resolution Designating the Maximum Household <br />Income level for Qualification for Deferral of Special <br />Assessments Based on Hardship <br /> <br />Cllapter 62, Section 1 of the Elk River City Code addresses the deferral of special <br />assessments. Citizens may defer special assessments if they are 65 years of age or older or <br />retired by virtue of permanent and total disability. In order to be eligible for the deferral, the <br />applicant must meet the 11ousellold income le,\Tels as established by resolution annually by the <br />City Council. <br /> <br />Attaclled is a resolution setting tile maximum household income le\Tels for 2005. ..A.s in the <br />past, the income levels are dle same as those used for the State of Ivlinnesota's Energy <br />i\ssistance Program. <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />The City Council is asked to adopt the attached resolution designating the maximum <br />housello1d income le\Tel for qualification for the deferral of special assessments based on <br />hardsllip. <br /> <br />$: \ Council \Lori \2005 \Sp ecialAsscss De fcrral.doc <br />
