UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO:FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Mike Tietz –Technical Services Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />March8, 2022 6.1i <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• In February, the locators processed89locate tickets. These consistedof 1 emergency <br />ticket, 73 normal tickets, 10 updated tickets, 2 cancellations, 2 meets, and 1 meet <br />correction. This resulted in a 16.8% decrease in tickets from the previous month and a <br />4.3% decrease fromthe prior February. The locators continue to infrared equipment <br />and validate data for the electric GIS maps. <br /> <br />• Electrical Technicians completed 182 service order tasks, updated the power bill, <br />attended to customer meter issues and off-peak concerns. <br /> <br />• On February 24, staff ran generators #1, #2 & #4. Staff noted that Engine #4 had an <br />exhaust leak during startup at one of the exhaust manifold expansion joints. Staff will <br />work on replacing this part before next month. <br /> <br />• Mapping department has been working on the GIS backlog from the construction <br />season along with updating the computer-aided drafting maps. Staff has also been <br />working on putting together an infrared map for use by the substation apparatus <br />technician to track inspections and record data. <br /> <br />• The substation apparatus technician has been working on relay panel layouts for the <br />West Substation and Station #14 panel replacements. Also, staff completed the <br />substation meter replacement for West Bank #1. <br /> <br />• Jeff Murray and I attended the Upper Midwest Metering Association’s 2022 Winter <br />Meeting, March 2-4. The conference consisted of topics ranging from meters and <br />current transformers to distracted driving. There was also a beneficial presentation <br />about solar installations and regulations. During roundtable sessions, the discussions <br />covered topics such as renewable energy policies and equipment availability/shortages. <br />It was a good conference, and we are appreciative for the opportunity to attend. <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />220 <br />
