UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO:FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Thomas Geiser – Operations Director <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />March 8,2022 6.1g <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Staff has been attending meetings with Sherburne County to plan for the County Road <br />44 project. <br /> We have been working with the City of Otsego and a developer on how to bring electric <br />service to a development that is in ERMU’s service area but quite some distance from <br />any existing power source.The developerhas decided to postponethis projectfor the <br />time being. <br /> Staff is creating plans and ordering materials and equipment for projects that we know <br />will be occurring in the next year. We are also planning the wire and transformer order <br />for 2023 due to lead times. <br />th <br />Staff has torndown all overhead linesalong Highway 169 at 197Avenue and School <br />Street. Once frost is out, we will pull all the remaining poles. <br /> Crews are working on phase two of the County Road 35 rebuild. For ERMU this project <br />involves setting new poles, installing new overhead lines, and removing the previous <br />overhead three phase line. <br /> Our new Journey Line Worker Alex Paschall started work on February 28. <br /> Staff participated in interviews for the Inventory & Procurement Assistant on February <br />28. <br />Staff participatedinthe review of applications for the Communications &Administrative <br />Coordinator position on February 25. <br />I will bejoiningthefivelineworkerscompeting inthe American Public Power <br />Association’s LineworkersRodeoin Austin, Texas, March 25-26.
