ERMU CommissionPolicyG.4i6Public Purpose Expenditures <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />2.ERMUsupportsrecognizingyears of service.The Employee Recognition <br />Workgroup has identified the following milestones for recognition: <br />1 Year <br />3 Years <br />5 Years <br />10 Years <br />15Years <br />20 Years <br />25 Years <br />30 Years <br />35 Years <br />Annually, the Employee Recognition Workgroup will review all upcoming <br />anniversaries and recognition items that will be available for employee selection. The <br />Workgroupwilltheninclude a program line item in the budget for ERMU <br />Commission review and approval. <br />3.Recognition Lamp.ERMU supports recognition of long term employees retiring after <br />a minimum of 20years of service. ERMU employees shall receive a novelty meter <br />lamp with an engraved plate noting years of service. <br />D.OtherEvents <br />ERMUsupports other events that are planned and paid for by employees. Examples of such <br />events include holiday gatherings and monthly birthday recognition. <br />E.Refreshments andFood forEmergencyResponseStaff <br />Because emergency personnel are often called to perform for extended periods of timewhere <br />refreshments are important to duty performance, ERMUpersonnel may beprovided <br />refreshments or food when it is deemed appropriate by the General Managertoassure the <br />delivery of qualityemergency response service. <br />F.EmployeeTraining <br />ERMUsupports employee training and providesfor reasonable reimbursement of <br />registration, tuition and travel expense for conferences, seminars, workshops, and approved <br />ERMUemployment-related course work in accordance withtheERMUPersonnel Policy. <br />The Personnel Policy also contains guidelines for an education reimbursement program. Job <br />related advanced education meets the public purpose guidelines of this Policy. <br />G.EmployeeWellnessProgram <br />ERMUrecognizes the importance of employee fitness and health as itrelates to the overall <br />work and life satisfaction of theemployee and the impact on the ERMUhealth insurance <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 4of6 <br />138 <br />
