City Council Minutes <br />February 7, 2022 <br />Page 5 <br />Mayor Dietz asked Council what other information are we going to get between now and <br />March 15 that will effect someone's decision. <br />Mr. Dolan explained if there is additional information the city wants from the county, the <br />county will make sure to get it to Council so they to make the best decision <br />Councilmember Beyer stated there would not be enough time to look at different funding <br />options with the March deadline. <br />Moved by Councilmember Christiansen and seconded by Councilmember Wagner <br />to reject the project. Motion carried 5-0. <br />8.1 Resolution 22-1 1: Local Authority for Housing and Redevelopment <br />Authority <br />Mr. Carlton clarified the resolution title explaining it is supporting local decision making <br />authority for the city. <br />Moved by Councilmember Westgaard and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to <br />adopt Resolution 22-11 supporting housing and local decision -making authority. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />8.2 Discuss Work Session Items <br />There were no additions. <br />8.3 Internet in North part of the City <br />Mayor Dietz brought up that Arvig will be doing a large project in the northern part of <br />Elk River to add internet to 255 homes. Mayor Dietz would like the information <br />published so the public can see if their address is part of the area. Mr. Portner stated there <br />will be an agreement with Arvig and when the agreement is finalized is when the <br />information will be published. <br />Mayor Dietz explained he would like those people to find out if they are on the list of <br />addresses that will be covered because there is a substantial number. <br />9.0 Council Liaison Updates <br />Councilmembers provided updates as outlined in the respective advisory boards' minutes <br />Council recessed at 8:43 p.m. and reconvened at 8:48 p.m. to continue the work session in <br />Upper Town. <br />10.1 Advisory Board Interviews <br />
