Elk River Public Library Board Page 3 <br /> October 26th,2021 <br /> Moved by Commissioner Boelter and seconded by Commissioner Blaske to approach <br /> Public Works to request two signs for the front circle drive through, that say "Curbside <br /> Pick-Up only". Motion carried 4-0. <br /> b. Approve meeting dates for 2022 <br /> • January 25th,April 26th,July 26th, October 25th <br /> c. Forecast a list of annual goals and projects <br /> • This line item was combined and discussed with 5.2.c <br /> d. Additional copies of packet to meetings <br /> • Chair Dreissig and the other board members gave direction to Dawn <br /> Larson to only bring one packet to future meetings to save on paper <br /> waste. <br /> 5.2 Old Business <br /> a. Update on raingarden <br /> • No updates until Spring when the additional plants will be in and can <br /> be planted. <br /> b. Progress on CIP items identified in July <br /> • Ms. Schake explained that there wouldn't be any updates until Spring <br /> since the CIP items on the list can't be purchased until after the first <br /> of the year. The only item that could be is the rug in the back area. <br /> Ms. Schake invited the board members to come shopping with her if <br /> they like or look in catalogs and pick one out. Ms. Schake will let <br /> Secretary Dawn Larson know when she has time to go shopping and <br /> Ms. Larson can let the board know. <br /> c. Library promotion ideas tabled at July meeting-any new thoughts? <br /> • Chair Dreissig and the board discussed options of marketing with the <br /> library for 2022. Ms. Schake made the point that the library board is <br /> not able to attend and promote the library at community events that <br /> the library is not a part of and does not have staff attending. It was <br /> also discussed that the library isn't allowed to put fliers in the schools <br /> for advertising but can attend individual events and classrooms if <br /> invited. <br /> • Some ideas for 2022 marketing that could include: <br /> • Attend library booth at the farmer's market <br /> • Attend local Community Connect event <br /> • Visit classrooms when teachers ask the library for <br /> staff to visit <br /> • Host a booth at the Thumbs up 5k <br /> • Read books at the United Way's Dolly Parton <br /> Imagination library kick off in the Spring if it is held <br /> at the library <br /> POWEREI I ? <br /> NATURE <br />
