Economic Development Authority Minutes
December 20, 2021
6. Public Hearings
There were no public hearing items.
7.1 Hiring Broker Services for EDA Property
Mr. O'Neil presented the staff report.
Ryan Hardin, representing Hardin Companies, was in attendance and
introduced himself to the EDA.
Page 2
Moved by Commissioner Hartwig and seconded by Commissioner Westgaard
to approve the hiring of Hardin Companies as commercial broker to represent
four Economic Development Authority (EDA) properties. Motion carried 7-0.
7.2 Introduction to Placer.ai
Mr. O'Neil presented the staff report.
The EDA asked if other city departments or organizations in Elk River could cost
share in the software. Examples included the Elk River Municipal Liquor stores, the
Elk River Chamber of Commerce, ISD 728 school district, or Sherburne County.
The EDA agreed that they would like to see how it would benefit residents and how
the city would get a return on investment. They also expressed concern that it would
be underutilized due to staff time needed to analyze results.
Mr. O'Neil stated that some of the information they could obtain would cost more
to acquire through hiring an outside consultant.
The EDA agreed that the information could be further discussed at a work session.
7.3 General Updates
Mr. O'Neil presented the staff report.
8. Adjournment
There being no further business, President Tveite adjourned the meeting of the Elk
River Economic Development Authority at 6:13 p.m.
Minutes prepared by Katie Porath.
Dan Tveite, EDA President
POitERII II
NATURE
