Public Hearings <br /> <br /> There were no public hearing items. <br /> <br />7.1 Hiring Broker Services for EDA Property <br /> <br />Mr. O’Neil presented the staff report. <br /> <br />Ryan Hardin, representing Hardin Companies, was in attendance and <br />introduced himself to the EDA. <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Hartwig and seconded by Commissioner Westgaard <br />to approve the hiring of Hardin Companies as commercial broker to represent <br />four Economic Development Authority (EDA) properties. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />7.2 Introduction to Placer.ai <br /> <br /> Mr. O’Neil presented the staff report. <br /> <br />The EDA asked if other city departments or organizations in Elk River could cost <br />share in the software. Examples included the Elk River Municipal Liquor stores, the <br />Elk River Chamber of Commerce, ISD 728 school district, or Sherburne County. <br /> <br />The EDA agreed that they would like to see how it would benefit residents and how <br />the city would get a return on investment. They also expressed concern that it would <br />be underutilized due to staff time needed to analyze results. <br /> <br />Mr. O’Neil stated that some of the information they could obtain would cost more <br />to acquire through hiring an outside consultant. <br /> <br />The EDA agreed that the information could be further discussed at a work session. <br /> <br />7.3 General Updates <br /> <br /> Mr. O’Neil presented the staff report. <br /> <br />8.
