UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Dave Ninow – Water Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />January 11, 2022 6.1j <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Delivered five new water meters. <br /> Sealed the water meter, installed an encoder receiver transmitter, and took curb stop <br />ties from six water services. <br /> Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples <br />o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria <br />o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH <br /> Completed 20 routine fluoride samples <br />o All samples met MDH standards <br />o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report <br /> SubmittedDischarge Monitoring Report for the Diesel Generation Plant to the <br />Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. <br /> T-Mobile/Sprint will start work this month on upgrading equipment on Auburn Street <br />Water Tower. <br /> Water department staff has repaired several fire hydrants that have been struck and <br />broken off by vehicles. <br />st <br />A water service curb stop valve brokeand began leaking ata home on 191 Avenue <br />when staff attempted to close it during a shut off requested by thehomeowner. The <br />valve needed to be excavated and replaced, with the cost to ERMU for the repair being <br />$4,500. <br /> The water operators continue to perform preventative maintenance on the water <br />treatment plants. We are also repairing or upgrading any items requiring attention. <br /> There still has not been an agreement reached for the final cost of the County Road 13 <br />water main relocation/insulation work.
