<br />Target Technology Center/CD 05-16 <br />September 6, 2005 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />needs to be located on the south side of the building to allow the sun's energy to keep the <br />ice off the tank. <br />The Commission discussed the option of having a shorter, wider tank versus the 45 foot tall <br />tank as proposed. The applicant indicated a willingness to research this issue further. <br /> <br />The Commission noted that with the towers and tank painted the same color as the building, <br />they may not be very noticeable. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of the request to the <br />City Council. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff and the Planning Commission recommend that the City Council approve the <br />conditional use permit for the Target Technology Center to allow above ground storage <br />tanks and loading docks which face the front yard, with the following conditions: <br /> <br />1. THE BUILDING SHALL COMPY WITH ALL APPLICABLE BUILDING AND <br />FIRE CODES. <br />2. THE COOLING TOWERS ON THE ABOVE-GROUND STORAGE TANKS SHALL <br />BE PAINTED TO MATCH THE EXTERIOR OF THE BUILDING. <br />3. THE BUILDING DESIGN SHALL BE MODIFIED TO MEET THE CHANGE IN <br />DEPTH REQUIREMENT OF SECTION 30-1294 (4) D OF THE CITY CODE. <br />4. THE SCREENING WALL SHALL BE EITHER INTEGRALLY COLORED OR <br />EXPOSED AGGREGATE CONCRETE PANELS. <br />5. ALL COMMENTS OF THE CITY ENGINEER SHALL BE ADDRESSED. <br />6.
