<br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council 4.14 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent December 20, 2021 Lauren Wipper, Human Resources Manager <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Hire Park Maintenance Worker Tim Sevcik, Street and Park Superintendent <br />Reviewed by <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Approve, by motion, the hiring of Daniel Zych to the position of park maintenance worker effective December <br />29, 2021. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />Due to the pool of excellent candidates when we went to market to fill a vacant park maintenance position, <br />Council gave approval to fill the newly budgeted 2022 position now rather than wait until spring. We have hired <br />two employees from this pool to fill vacant positions and are recommending Daniel Zych to fill this new position. <br /> <br />Mr. Zych holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental and earth science and has worked in seasonal and internship <br />positions in the field for five years. Most recently he has worked as a fabricator in his fulltime employment. <br /> <br />This is an IUOE Local No. 49 position.
