<br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council 4.12 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent December 20, 2021 Lauren Wipper, Human Resources Manager <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Hire Fulltime Liquor Clerk Joe Audette, Liquor Operations Manager <br />Reviewed by <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Approve, by motion, the hiring of Britny Cook to the position of fulltime liquor store clerk effective December <br />21, 2021. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />During the November 15, 2021, work session, Council consented to fill the recently vacated fulltime liquor store <br />clerk position. Staff posted an internal recruitment and received letters from three current part-time liquor store <br />clerks. Following interviews, staff recommends Britny Cook for the position. <br /> <br />Ms. Cook started working as a part-time clerk in November of 2020. She resigned in April 2021 to work in a <br />fulltime position with the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. In November of 2021, Ms. Cook returned to a <br />part-time position with our liquor stores. <br /> <br />Ms. Cook’s education and work history is in public safety however she prefers the environment of retail liquor. <br />Her law enforcement background is beneficial to our liquor store operations. <br /> <br />Ms. Cook will begin at step A of pay grade 6N.
