<br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council 4.11 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent December 6, 2021 Lauren Wipper, Human Resources Manager <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Hire Park Maintenance Worker - Gallagher Tim Sevcik, Street and Park Superintendent <br />Reviewed by <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Approve, by motion, the hiring of Tim Gallagher for the position of park maintenance worker effective December <br />13, 2021. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />A park maintenance worker was terminated at the November 15, 2021, council meeting. We had recently collected <br />applications for this position and were able to move forward with one of these candidates to fill this vacancy. <br />Following background check and reference calls we recommend Tim Gallagher for this position. <br /> <br />Mr. Gallagher has been working mainly in the golf course industry since 1996. In January of this year, he began <br />working for the City of Johnston, Iowa Park Department and found his passion. Desiring to move closer to <br />family, he applied for our position.
