UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Dave Ninow – Water Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />November 9, 2021 6.1j <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Delivered 15 new water meters. <br /> Sealed the water meter, installed an encoder receiver transmitter, and took curb stop <br />ties from 14 water services. <br /> Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples <br />o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria. <br />o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH <br /> Completed 21 routine fluoride samples <br />o All samples met MDH standards. <br />o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report <br /> Installations havebeen completed for the 2021 Watermain Relocation Improvements <br />projectassociated with the Highway 169 Redefine project. <br /> The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) collected water samples from our water <br />treatment plants to test for perfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, for the MDH Statewide <br />PFAS monitoring project. This monitoring project is part of a larger effort at MDH to <br />cover 90% of community public water system customers by 2025under its PFAS <br />monitoring program. <br /> The water department completed the annual inspection of the Lake Orono Dam on <br />October 6. Staff observed water seeping through cracks in the base of the concrete <br />observation deck at the north abutment, further investigation is needed. <br /> Freeport Street Water Tower has been taken out of service and drained for the winter. <br />Water department staff has beenworking with Sherburne Countyand theircontractor <br />on lowering and insulating water mainfor the County State Aid Highway13 <br />rehabilitation project. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />October2021 Pumping by Well <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />119 <br />
