Permits have been approved and we are in full
constructionmode. We are working with Great River Energy, asthey have ninepoles
along the highwaythat need tobemoved or replaced and we have threephase
overhead lines attached to them. All underground lines are installed and energized at
thrd
and 193Avenues. Crews will tear down overhead infrastructureasneeded this
197
fall. We are also currently working at the School and Main Street intersections. We will
have to replace 700 feet of 500 MCM underground line along the ramp that brings
Highway 10 westbound traffic northbound on Highway 169.

th
On October 20, during a high wind event, a tree located north of 196Lane fellonto
ERMU overhead lines that run along County Road 1. The tree downed the three phase
line, snapping a pole in half and affecting service for 404 customers at 3:10 p.m. With
some careful switching we were able to get 321customers back in powerwithin the
hour. Among those remaining out of power, 54 came back on after replacing the pole
and energizing the line at 8:20 p.m. The remaining 29 customers were still out of power
due to an underground primary failure that occurred during the initial outage event.
After locating the fault, crews were able to get the remaining customers back in power
by 5:00 a.m. on October 21.
