UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO:FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Michelle Canterbury– Executive Administrative Manager <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />November9, 2021 6.1f <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Inserts for the November billings include a promotional flyer for the second cycle of our <br />program offering customers free LEDs when they sign up for the Connector, ERMU’s <br />monthly conservation newsletter. We are also sending anupdated Customer Privacy <br />Notice. Theprivacynoticeis required to be sent out annually tocustomersandexplains <br />how we collect, share, and protect their personal information. In addition, it is the policy <br />of ERMU to comply with the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act pertaining to <br />government data, which includes customer data. Attached are thetwobill inserts. <br /> October and November social media posts will feature a variety of topics including: <br />automatic bill payment, how to avoid energy waste from phantom loads, leaky faucets <br />th <br />and the importance of fixing leaks quickly, the promotion of Energy City’s 25 <br />Anniversary and their surveys designed to help shape future initiatives, and the <br />American Public Power Association Smart Energy Provider designationERMU recently <br />received.Staff will also be posting public service announcements such as dates for <br />upcoming commission meetings, holiday business closures, and daylight saving time. <br /> <br />To spotlightBill from our water department, and highlight the importance of backflow <br />prevention, our communications coordinator createda short videothat explainshow a <br />newservice we offerhelps protect drinking water for homes in our community.A link to <br />the videois provided below. <br /> The administrations department continues to work on our records management project, <br />particularly focusing onpermanent records as time permits. <br /> Communications & Administrative Coordinator Tony Mauren attended the 2021 <br />American Public Power Association Customer Connections Conference October 24-27, in <br />Scottsdale, Arizona. Sessions covered a variety of topics with tracks in public <br />communications, customer service, energy innovation, and key accounts.
