Employment <br />Job growth has accompanied the community's population <br />growth with the number of jobs growing by nearly 30% or <br />1,900 jobs in the last 10 years. Manufacturing makes up 17% <br />of Elk River's employment base with 1,858 jobs. The manu- <br />facturing sector also grew by 592 jobs between 2008 and <br />2017.Other industries that have experienced growth since <br />2008 include retail trade (+476 jobs), construction (+395 <br />jobs), and educational services (+360 jobs).
