UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Dave Ninow – Water Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />October 12, 20216.1j <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Delivered11new water meters. <br /> Sealed the water meter, installed encoder receiver transmitter, and took curb stop ties <br />from 9 water services. <br /> Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples <br />o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria. <br />o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH <br /> Completed 21 routine fluoride samples <br />o All samples met MDH standards. <br />o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report <br /> Submitted Discharge Monitoring Report for theDiesel Generation Plant to the <br />Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. <br /> Water main relocation for the Highway 169 project is underway. About 2,000 feet of <br />pipe has been replaced so far. <br /> On September 20, myself and the administration, communications, and conservation <br />departments, along with Robyn Hoerr from Minnesota Rural Water Association met <br />with representatives from MDH forpart two of the Well Head Protection Plan revision. <br /> The existing roofing for the Well 6 water treatment building has been removed and <br />replaced. This was part of the 2021 Capital Projects budget as the roof has reached the <br />end of its life span and had developed small leaks. <br />It was discovered during excavation for the County Road13 rehabilitationthat existing <br />water mainis in the way of storm sewer pipe that is being installed. Sixty feet of the <br />water main has been lowered by the contractor working on the project to accommodate <br />the County storm sewer. <br />The drop pipe, check valve, pump,and motor have been removed from Well 8 for <br />routine maintenanceand inspection.
