UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO:FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Chris Sumstad – Electric Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />October 12, 20216.1h <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Installed 20 new residential services, which involves the connection of a secondary line <br />once the customer requests service. <br /> Finished moving a switchgear box and rerouting underground wire at Elk Hills Drive and <br />Dodge Avenue. <br /> Energized the new three phase service for the Sportech, Inc. addition. <br /> Energized the new three phase service at Elk Ridge Apartments. <br /> Set a new transformer for an electric vehicle charging station near Rockwoods <br />restaurant in Otsego. <br /> The bore crew has finished installing new underground wire for the Highway 169 <br />Redefine project on both the east and west sides of the highway at Main Street. <br /> Bore crew installed underground wire at the refuse-derived fuel plant to finish the loop <br />feed to our transformer. <br /> A vehicle struck a streetlight along Highway 169, north of Main Street. <br /> Relocated a streetlight in Otsego south of Coborn’s so an entrance driveway could be <br />installed for a new commercial customer. <br /> Contractor hit two runs of primary wire that feeds Trott Brook townhomes. This caused <br />an outage to approximately 50 customers until crews could switch power around. <br /> A dump truck tore down neutral wire and caused an outage at Plaisted Landscape <br />Supply, which lasted about an hour. <br /> Began resetting streets lights along Highway 10 as construction allows. We removed <br />these earlier this spring for the rehabilitation work to be done. <br /> Line crews are working on both sides of Main Street at Highway 169, planning for the <br />overhead crossing and surrounding lines to be removed by November 1. <br /> Other outages were minimal this past month and mostly involved wildlife. <br /> Curt Wark and Tanner Ellis attended the Overhead School put on by Minnesota <br />Municipal Utilities Association, September 14-17. <br /> <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />93 <br />
