UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING TO:FROM: ERMU Commission Tom Sagstetter – Conservation & Key Accounts Manager MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: October 12, 20216.1e SUBJECT: Staff Update ACTION REQUESTED: None DISCUSSION: In the last 30 days, the level two charger located downtown had 7 sessions andprovided customers with 83kWhof green energy. The DC fast charger at the Coborn’s fuel station had 59sessions and provided875kWh. The charger in the ERMU/City Hall parking lot had 12 sessions and provided customers with 225 kWh. There was a total of 78 charging sessions and 1,183 kWh of energy provided over the last 30 days. The National Drive Electric Week (NDEW)event was held on Thursday, September 30, at the Elk River Farmers Market. There was a total of 18 electric vehicles at the event. Those who brought vehicles had a great time talking about ownership with other EV drivers and there were many in the community that stopped to learn from their experiences. Over 50 people visited the booth to talk about EVs and receive a gift bag for participating in good conversations. As part of the NDEW event, we took suggestions for naming the e bike owned by the City of Elk River. The winning name was “Sparky.” Cornerstone Auto was pleased with the event and provided at least 23 EV test drives to interested participants. ERMU staff continues to explore options for the operation of the landfill gas-to-electric generation facility after the contract end date of October 2022. The Downtown Elk River Business Association is interested in purchasing new decorations to go on the light poles for the winter season. ERMU staff has been working with the City to determine the cost of installing the new decorations and the specifications for any decorations installed on ERMU poles. ______________________________________________________________________________ Page 1 of 1 88
