UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING
TO:FROM:
ERMU CommissionJennie Nelson – Customer Service Manager
MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER:
October 12, 2021 6.1d
SUBJECT:
Staff Update
ACTION REQUESTED:
None
DISCUSSION:
Our credit and collections specialist compiled the final cycle of assessment letters and
they have been sent out. As of October 7, we’ve had about 60 payments. The due date
for assessment payments is November 1.
At the request of the City of Otsego’sattorney, we reviewed their draft franchise
ordinance for ERMU. We provided the attorneyour commentsand then had a follow up
call for clarification. Otsego staff is willing to accept the changes and will place the
agreement on the council agenda for their October 25 meeting. We will present the
agreement to the Commission once it has been adopted by the City of Otsego.

Randy’s Sanitation/Republic Services had an unforeseen staffing issue resulting in a shift
from Wednesday recycle pickup to Thursday recycle pickup for about 750 homes. The
hauler did do an autodial call to the residents affected, but our customer service team
still took some calls from confused customers.

Our billing specialist sent out an email and/or letter to all irrigation accounts reminding
them to remove their irrigation meter and submit their final irrigation reads for the
season. This is part of a new process that was created earlier this year to better
streamline communication with irrigation contractors.
______________________________________________________________________________
Page 1 of 1
87
